Ungooroo, with the support of the Aboriginal Health and Medical Research Council (AHMRC) and Ministry of Health, is providing COVID-19 vaccines for our mob and community at a new vaccine hub.
The Singleton Vaccine Hub is located next to Ungooroo Medical Centre, in the Singleton Centre, 157-159 John St Singleton. The Muswellbrook Vaccine Hub will be located at Ungooroo's Outreach Clinic, 2Francis St Muswellbrook and will open on Wednesday 13 October.
The vaccine is free for everyone in Australia
COVID-19 (Coronavirus) can be a very serious illness, especially for our elders and those in our community who have existing medical conditions. Getting a vaccine is one of the best ways of protecting yourself and others in your community from getting really sick or even dying from COVID-19.
The Singleton Vaccination Hub will be open 10am – 3pm every Wednesday and Thursday from Wednesday 8 September 2021. The Muswellbrook Vaccination Hub will be be open 10am - 3pm every Wednesday and Thursday from Wednesday 13 October.

The day before your appointment, our nurses will call you and go through your health summary.
• Photo ID (if you have one) • Medicare card (if you have one) • Health Summary with information about - any of your medical conditions - details of any medications you are taking - information about any reactions you have had to any vaccine in the past (if applicable) - the name of your current GP - your COVID-19 consent form
No, all ATSI patients under 60 years of age will receive the Pfizer vaccine, and patients 60+ years will receive the AstraZeneca vaccine. People will be allocated a vaccine based on the current Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) / NSW Health advice. PLEASE NOTE: All vaccines at the Muswellbrook Vaccine Hub will be Pfizer.
You will be asked to stay in the waiting area for 15 – 30 minutes after your vaccination so our nurses can keep an eye on you and check for any immediate reactions to the vaccine.
Once you have received your first vaccine dose, our team will make a 2nd appointment for you to receive your second dose, 3 – 4 weeks for Pfizer and 8 – 12 weeks for AstraZeneca
We are expecting around 300 Pfizer vaccines and 200 Astra Zeneca (AZ) vaccines each fortnight but this is dependent on supply.
As we are receiving a limited number of vaccines each week, all vaccine appointments and timings will be dependent on the allocation of doses we receive and may need to be changed.
If you are not currently a patient of Ungooroo Medical Centre, you will need to bring a copy of your current health summary to your appointment so that our medical team can review your medical history.
ATSI community members who aren’t currently Ungooroo patients can make an appointment for vaccination but will need to bring a current health summary with them to their appointment. As we have a limited number of vaccines available, priority in the initial rollout will be given to existing patients and clients.
Please call us and we will reschedule your appointment. Please do not come to your vaccine appointment if: • You are feeling unwell with a fever, runny nose, cough or other symptoms that could be from COVID-19 • You are waiting for COVID-19 test results or you have tested positive for COVID-19 • You are a close contact of someone with COVID-19 • You are in quarantine
If you’ve had another vaccine in the 7 days before your COVID-19 vaccine appointment, please let us know as we will need to reschedule your appointment.
