Suicide Prevention

Ungooroo Aboriginal Corporation is launching a new program in 2020 focused on suicide prevention and mental wellness- Kawuma-Miruma.

Kawuma-Miruma means to gather and take care of and is a phrase used in the Wanaruah language. The program is staffed by Aboriginal Mental Health workers who are available to support members of the community through their mental health crises.

The program is supported by our experienced team of health practitioners at Ungooroo, including our General Practitioners and psychologists, as well as working closely with acute mental health care providers.

Legal Aid

Ungooroo have partnered with Legal Aid NSW to deliver free legal help to the local community in most areas of criminal, family and civil law.

The Legal Aid service is available from Ungooroo locations in Singleton and Muswellbrook to support the Upper Hunter community with a range of legal issues and concerns.

NDIS Supports

Ungooroo, in partnership with the Local Area Coordination team (Uniting), can support our Indigenous community through their NDIS journey. For some, the complexity of their needs can make the NDIS process seem complex and difficult. For others, it may just be a small amount of support that can make all the difference. Regardless of your needs, we’re here to do what we can to help you and your family.
