Ungooroo’s Health Clinic now provides Mental Health Occupational Therapy services.

Occupational Therapists working in Mental Health can help people to achieve the everyday activities that they need and want to engage in. They use a person-centred approach to support people within a recovery framework to improve their daily functioning, productivity, and capacity.

Mental Health Occupational Therapy is for adolescents and adults with a diagnosed mental illness or experiencing mental health difficulties or challenges and can assist with the following:

– Developing skills to live more independently
– Restoring skills
– Modifying or adapting the environment or activity
– Identifying strategies to deal with stress and emotions
– Structuring daily life
– Working on relapse prevention

Ungooroo’s Occupational Therapy Services can be accessed through a Mental Health Care Plan and referral from your GP. If you are unsure how we can help, please call us on 6571 5111 to discuss.
